It could be a chair, bed or even on the floor. Try to wear loose and comfortable
clothes.
Set a timer:
If you are not used to meditating,
it is always better to set a time for five or ten minutes. When you are new to
meditation, you can lose track of time. This will also ensure that you are not
meditating for too long. You can gradually increase your meditating time for 30
minutes too when you get used to and are comfortable.
Focus on your thoughts:
It is very important to focus on
your thoughts while you are meditating. Meditation helps you to eliminate all
the negative thoughts. It is not easy to eliminate negative thoughts easily.
But when you meditate and witness your thoughts, it becomes easy not to ponder
upon them and to just let them go.
